Please read the statement below from the Half Hollow Hills Superintendent as it contains good information and guidance regarding the lifting of the universal mask mandate effective Wednesday, March 2, 2022.

The mask mandate for childcare has also been lifted as of tomorrow, Wednesday, March 2, 2022.

At this time, and in the coming days, please be especially alert as you walk around the program listening to children’s conversations with one another.  Be sure that they are treating each other with respect and no one is being made fun of or made to feel bad about wearing a mask or not (this applies to children AND staff).

Please remind children at the start of the program that some children and teachers will be wearing masks and some will not and everyone should be made to feel comfortable about that choice and the easiest thing to do is say nothing at all!!  Also, if they hear anyone being unkind that they should tell a staff member.

If a parent requests that their child wear a mask, let them know that you will do your best to honor their request. During the program we suggest you offer gentle reminders such as “If your Mom or Dad have asked you to keep your mask on, please remember to wear it correctly.” If a parent has requested their child wear a mask and the child refuses to do so, please communicate this to the parent.

We also will not separate students from each other based on mask wearing/not wearing.

We will forward any new district updates as they become available.
