M.A.D.D. – Mothers Against Drunk Driving
- Interactive Timeline:
- M. A.D.D. was organized in 1980 by Candace Lightner after her 13-year old daughter was killed by a drunk driver. What started around a dinner table in California is now working toward ending drunk driving in all 50 states, and all of the Provinces of Canada. In addition to working to end drunk driving, M.A.D.D. is also working toward ending drugged driving through educational resources, community activism, advocacy, and counseling services, as well as victim services. M.A.D.D. boasts that drunk driving deaths have been cut in half since its founding.
