The Sunshine Toy Giveaway that is usually held at the Dix Hills Fire Department doesn’t seem to be happening this year.
I have reached out to the organizers several times over the last couple of weeks and have not heard back.
There is another Toy Giveaway for Huntington Township residents only called “Project Toy” which takes place at an agency called “Tri-CYA”.
Project Toy gives parents who are struggling financially the opportunity to “shop” (at no cost) for holiday gifts.
We were just informed that Project Toy registration is today from 5-8 pm at Tri-CYA 809 New York Ave Huntington NY 11743 (In the Big H Shopping Center behind Phenix Salon Suites)
To register, families must bring : photo ID , birth certificates and proof of address. Toys are for children birth-16 years of age.
Parents can begin their holiday shopping at Tri-CYA on December 17, 2025.
